People often ask me how I arrive at my fee structure. It's always a challenge deciding what to charge people. On the one hand, I want to provide a comprehensive and valuable service to expectant parents at this very important time in their lives, regardless of their income level or personal budget. On the other hand, I need to cover my expenses and still have a little bit of money left over to make up for the amount of time I spend away from my family and other commitments. I also want to make enough money to finance some of my other projects, including this web site!
Before you hire me, I would invite you to shop around to compare costs for classes as well as in-home consultants (if you can find any) that focus specifically on multiple births. In the meantime, in order to be transparent, I have included below a list of my expenses related to offering this service:
-materials & handouts
-postage (for distance component)
-organic ingredients for snacks (Classes One & Three)
-video/DVD viewing rights liscence
-samples
-mileage & gas
-parking where applicable
-advertising/web site costs
-professional development
-business cards & office supplies
-childcare (at times when my husband is not available to cover me while I teach)
-time on the road, in your home and online
While my fees represent only a minor investment for some families, for others, the cost can be a burden. With this diverse reality in mind, a percentage of my annual work is done gratis for families in need. If you can write me a compelling email demonstrating your need for a reduced or waived fee, please do so, and I will gladly consider your circumstances.
