One of the things I enjoy most is facilitating workshops. As a life-long learner, few things give me as much pleasure as observing the proverbial light bulb go on for people as they experience an “A-ha! Moment”, or as they consolidate new learning together with their colleagues. My workshops range in size; I can accommodate small groups of 10-12 or large groups of up to 200 participants. Formats and topics vary as widely as my audiences. Some of the learning opportunities I have planned and facilitated over the past several years include the following:
- two-hour workshop on parenting toddlers
- full-day session on transformational practices for classroom teachers
- multi-day Math workshop for primary and junior educators across the province
- five-part course on Thanatology for people working with children
- after-school session on Questioning in the Arts
- staff meeting on the norms of collaboration
- private consultations with expectant parents
- afternoon workshop on classroom management for Sunday School teachers
- three-hour, interactive musical performance at a community picnic
As you can see, my scope is broad. While most of my experience is with teachers and parents, the sky’s the limit in terms of topics I am willing and eager to address. I pride myself in being practical in my sessions, and providing an environment where participants draw on their own expertise and learn from each other in a safe and inviting learning community. My workshops challenge but do not threaten. I am personable yet professional as required by any given situation.
If you are looking for a hands-on learning opportunity for your organization, email me with the particulars. I look forward to the possibility of working with you and engaging your employees or other learners!
